We respect your privacy. PhotoCuller for macOS and iOS processes your photos on your device and does not upload them to K-Squared Labs. Optional app features use Apple services for iCloud sync and App Store purchases, and license activation contacts the PhotoCuller licensing service. Our website collects the limited information described below.
On iOS, individual iCloud Sync categories are enabled by default when iCloud is available. You can turn each category off in PhotoCuller Settings. Enabled categories use your private Apple CloudKit database to sync selected app data between your devices, including:
Synced content may include information you enter yourself, such as names, contact details, captions, keywords, rights information, or locations. PhotoCuller does not place the underlying photo or a photo preview in its CloudKit records. Apple stores and processes this data as part of iCloud. Turning a category off stops further sync for that category; it does not automatically delete records already stored in iCloud.
Apple processes iOS purchases and subscriptions. PhotoCuller receives product, transaction, subscription-status, purchase, expiration, and revocation information from StoreKit so it can display products, verify purchases, restore purchases, and unlock paid features. K-Squared Labs does not receive your payment-card details from the app.
If you participate in the referral program, our licensing service records a random referral code, the referring license identifier, Paddle transaction and customer identifiers, purchase and refund status, and earned coverage rewards. We compare keyed hashes of normalized purchaser and referrer email addresses to detect obvious self-referrals; the referral ledger does not store those email addresses or license keys.
When you redeem an authorized-reseller code, we process the email address you provide, the redemption code, the reseller identifier, the product represented by the code, and an existing license key when redeeming a renewal. The redemption database stores a cryptographic hash of the code and email address, redemption status and timestamps, and the resulting Keygen license identifier. The reseller separately handles your payment and may process information under its own privacy policy; K-Squared Labs does not receive your payment-card details from the reseller.
When a directly licensed Mac app validates its license, or when you choose to unlock the iOS app with an eligible desktop license key, PhotoCuller sends the license key, a randomly generated device identifier, and the device name to the PhotoCuller licensing service. The service uses this information to validate license access, enforce device limits, prevent abuse, and issue an offline license certificate. Standard request data, such as IP address and request time, may also be processed for security and reliability. The license key and certificate are stored in the device Keychain.
If you request the Mac download link or redeem a reseller code, we use your email to:
We will never sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
We use website analytics to:
We process purchase status and license information only to provide and protect paid access. iCloud data is used only to sync the categories you have enabled between devices signed into your Apple account. We do not use your app content for advertising and do not sell it.
Apple provides the App Store, StoreKit, Apple Photos, and CloudKit/iCloud services used by PhotoCuller on iOS. Apple processes purchase, subscription, iCloud, and Photos data under your Apple account settings and Apple's Privacy Policy.
Our licensing infrastructure processes license keys, device activation records, offline license certificates, and standard service logs to provide license activation and prevent fraud. We do not use license-service data for advertising.
We use MailerLite to manage download-link emails and optional marketing subscriptions. When you sign up, your email is stored on their servers. MailerLite is GDPR compliant and doesn't sell your data.
We use PostHog for website analytics. We configure it not to collect names, email addresses, or photo content. Cookies and similar identifiers may be used to understand website usage and campaign attribution.
We use Partnero to operate our affiliate program. Partnero records affiliate visits and receives qualifying purchase and refund data from Paddle so it can attribute sales, calculate commissions, and provide reporting to us and the referring affiliate.
Our website is hosted on Vercel. They may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request times) for security and performance purposes.
Website signup information is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to records we must keep for legal or security purposes. Referral attribution cookies expire after 60 days. Referral, license, and transaction records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to provide access, maintain purchase history, enforce license limits, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Apple controls retention of App Store and private iCloud data under your Apple account. Local app data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app.
We take reasonable administrative and technical precautions to protect information. Network requests to our website and licensing service use HTTPS, sensitive license data is stored in the device Keychain, and iCloud records use the customer's private CloudKit database. However, no storage or transmission method is 100% secure.
We do not sell personal information. Contact us using the address below to make a privacy request.
PhotoCuller is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you're a parent and believe we've collected information from your child, please contact us.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll notify you of any significant changes by email (if you subscribed to updates) or by placing a notice on our website.

We built PhotoCuller because we were tired of photo management apps that upload everything to the cloud and hold your memories hostage. Your photos are yours. PhotoCuller processes them on your device and does not send them to our servers. When you use iCloud Sync, we sync only the selected app data and metadata needed to support your workflow—not the photo itself. We aim to collect and process only what is needed to provide PhotoCuller, licensing, purchases, support, and the website.
